WELCOME HUMANS
I am Inspector Ash of Underworld Division 49 - A Bureau of Balance Subsidiary.
As we all know, Death has been MIA for years, and things are looking bleak. Human society is crumbling, and things aren’t looking much better in the underworld. Cracks are appearing between the worlds and the inmates are getting restless. We definitely can not have the deceased joining the ones that can not die.
The Balance is off, folks.
And so, I have been summoned to the town of San Mortis (formerly Trinidad, Colorado) with one overriding task: To Find Death.
They don’t want to come back to work, but the truth is, we need them.
HERE IS WHAT WE KNOW
We know they are somewhere within this town.
We know they are one of very few suspects.
But it’s been… challenging, figuring out exactly who.
So, humans of San Mortis, we need your help. Follow the clues, tell us who you think it is, and we will leave your town in peace.
If you don’t, well… I’ve been authorized to activate Protocol 6-7. Enacted only a few times in Earth history (see Xiaozhai Tiankeng for an example), this extreme measure will ensure that Death returns no matter what - and all of you may be taking a ride with Them.
