Welcome to San Mortis (formerly known as Trinidad)

Just a small town in a very big world, where something has gone terribly wrong.
No one here has died in quite some time.

At first, it felt like a miracle.
Now, things are starting to fray.

And to make matters worse, Death is somewhere in town, refusing to get back to work.

Death’s Holiday is an immersive theatrical experience blending live performance, circus, and interactive storytelling. Audiences step into the world as travelers passing through San Mortis, guided through a series of encounters with its residents as they attempt to understand what’s happening—and what might happen next.

Your journey includes a trolley ride, a guided walk through town, pop-up performances, and optional experiences along the way. Each group moves through the story together, passing from character to character as the world unfolds around them.

Part guided tour, part open exploration, Death’s Holiday invites you to follow the story or wander off and see what you find.

This special pop-up edition of Death’s Holiday was created for the Colorado Creative Industries Summit.

Presented as a condensed, site-specific experience in Trinidad, Colorado, this version offers a glimpse into a larger, full-length immersive work currently in development.

BETHEL LINDSLEY

Performer

Bethel walked into a gymnastics gym at age 5 and never looked back. She loved the competition, dedication, and high level of technical skill gymnastics required. It was not a far leap to the circus after she finished competing in college and became a professional acrobat. Her first contract with Royal Caribbean International on the Allure of the Seas After that, her love of performance and circus continued to grow and develop. Through her career, she has had the opportunity to work with some really amazing companies and people from all over the world. She was a part of the creation cast of The Han Show for Franco Dragone in Wuhan, China where she was a specialty performer in the largest circus water show in the world. She returned for second contract with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines but this time on The Oasis of the Seas where she was the featured performer and the aerial coordinator. She has worked for Feld Entertainment on the largest stunt show in the world Marvel Universe Live bringing super-heroes to life. During the holiday season she performs with Cirque Dreams for their show Holidaze at the Gaylord Rockies.

Every contract, she has been able to apply her gymnastics foundations to expand her knowledge to a wide range of circus disciplines, such as trampoline, tumbling, partner acrobatics, duo/solo aerial, diving, hand balancing, chinese pole, hooping, juggling, stunt work, stage combat, fly board, and Russian swing. Taking a break from touring, she landed back in her hometown of Denver where she undertook a leadership role in a variety of local companies to help raise and improve the overall level of acrobatic performance. She was the main antagonist in Rainbow Militia’s immersive circus Zabiti and main character in Celestial Chaos, frequently performs at the Clocktower Cabaret among other local companies and productions.

All of these events have lead her to undertake her most exciting challenge yet of creating Circus Foundry. By combining her knowledge of acrobatics and circus from around the world, she brings high quality, ensemble, circus, and storytelling to the general public so they can also experience the wonder and magic that it has brought to her life.

ANTHONY CUMMINGS

Performer

Anthony always had a love for math, logic, and puzzles. Somehow this lead him to circus. He used juggling as a means to escape the frustrations of everyday life. This led him to throwing bigger things in the air, mainly people. Eventually, he decided to run away and join a circus. Well, not as drastic but, he did join a professional training program for circus artists. After graduating from the program, he began performing with several local companies in Colorado such as Phantom Circus, the Clocktower Cabaret, Rainbow Militia, and many more, before moving to Las Vegas to continue to grow as an artist. Six months later he was working for Royal Caribbean International as an acrobat on his first professional contract. Eight months of caribbean sun, waves, and hundreds of performances later he returned to his stomping grounds in Colorado hungry for a new adventure. Long story short, juggling is the gateway drug to circus, be advised.

Starry Night Producing Director

Amber Blais is Founder and Producing Director of Starry Night Productions (formerly Rainbow Militia Circus), and has over 15 years of PR, marketing, donor relations, theater, event planning and production experience. Her most recent role was working in collaboration with ownership to build the entertainment program from the ground up for the iconic Casa Bonita Denver.

Charles is a Denver based creative and performer with a love of immersive theater, dungeons and dragons, and spicy food. They work with community focused arts projects such as The Wit and Unleashed Theater both of which you should find on social media. You won't find Charles on social media however because they lack self control and are happier without a scrolling dopamine drip. Charles would like to thank their partner Adeline for cuddles and sharing their love of ritual.

Starry Night Education Director

Born and raised in Colorado, Fronzo Gilkey II was introduced to the arts at a young age. He is inspired by exploration in various mediums to which he can contribute and has dipped his toes into writing, devising, teaching, production, & performance. He also serves as the Director of Operations for his company “Dyfferent Media”, which looks to create art that is grounded in belonging & leaves the viewer feeling a greater sense of connection with others, as well as themselves.
